She was so concentrated writing her letter (on her list- a pen, a hello kitty purse, a zhu zhu pet and chapstick) and it sat on our mantle until she went to the Polar Express train ride and sat on Santa’s lap. She is only four, but it has been really cool talking about what Christmas spirit means.. and how it is a time to share with others who don’t have as much as she does, to think about the year we just finished and the things we are proud of, to spend time with family and to remember that there is magic all around us.
That last bit is what I feel has most impacted this year.
Somewhere along the way as we grow up we become logical and skeptical and literal. We don’t allow ourselves to believe that sometimes the universe holds things for us that can’t be planned or explained. That most of those things are great, some not so much… but we forget that it’s OK to just know that not everything has to have an answer.
So my wish for you this holiday is to believe that the universe has something great in store for you; that there IS a bit of magic in Christmas and the spirit of the holidays way deeper than the material gifts we give and receive; that when you take the time to PAUSE and see the tiny little details around you- you become more present which inevitably leads to great things; at work, at home, at play.
Happy Holidays to you, your colleagues, your families and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support this year. We have all become connected in 2010 and I am SO looking forward to what the universe has in store for all of us in 2011.
